Boys in the 5th Ward

In 1925 Tommaso Crapisi was re-elected as the Alderman in the 5th Ward in Rockford, IL. All new alderman received flowers but Tommaso was the only reelected alderman to also receive flowers. They were from the “boys in the 5th Ward.

In 1902 he arrived in New Orleans, speaking no english and a little more than 20 years later was serving his 2nd term as an alderman in Rockford,
